Not sure if this thread has been made but I attempted a search and couldn't find. If one was made already, feel free to lock.
On topic: So? are there any? No voice actors/actresses, just celebrities that appear on movies/television in the USA. e.g. Hulk Hogan, Samuel Jackson, etc Any source that can link to an interview mentioning about it would be great! |

I remember watching an interview with Cole and Dylan Sprouse, where they both mentioned they loved reading manga.

Some names I have seen associated with anime fandom:
Robin Williams - the Zelda commercials, and naming his daughter Zelda, should be a hint... (Yea, its a game, but it leads to anime...) Kayne West Samuel L. Jackson - the reason he did Afro Samurai Orson Scott Card - his daughter is a major Otaku and she got him watching things like Cowboy Bebop, which he said was better than the vast majority of US science fiction TV shows. He also has started writing "American Manga" with his daughter, including "Laddertop", which has a very manga feel. I'm sure there's more... I am an otaku, does that count? (What? I'm not famous? Why the hell not?!? Oh.... because I've never done anything noteworthy and have been married to the same woman for almost 25 years... OK, I get it...) |

Funny never knew Sam Jackson was fond of anime, neither did I knew about Kanye. I googled American manga and saw a bunch of sources. Manga made in america is somewhat called Ameri-manga, lol, pretty cheesy i guess, but cool stuff. |

Stephen Speilberg is a fan of Miyazaki, he also called Akira Kurosawa "The Shakespeare of Film" (Kurosawa made Samurai Films most famously The Seven Samurai and Rashomon)
Gillian Anderson (Skully) heard Disney was going to make Princess Mononoke in English and BEGGED to be on it because she was a fan. The Wachowski brothers admitted Ghost in the Shell and Akira were major influences on The Matrix, should be no surprise since they went on to make Speed Racer and The Animatrix James Cameron is a major fan of Battle Angel even going so far as trying to make a film version. After Avatar he said it will be his next major project. We'll see. Danny Boyle once tried to make a film version of Gunsmith Cats (Director of Slumdog Millionare). It fell through. Gina Davis is a huge Sailor Moon fan and tried unsuccessfully to make a film version with her playing Queen Beryl. It fell through due to Toei Entertainment hating money or something. |
