Here is a haiku that I wrote in English class that I ended up using as a chorus in a song. The name of the haiku itself is Engraved.

Eyes will not deceive
Circles of dull thorns embrace
Unforgotten eve

Props on such an old thread...

Love in grace
Love is truth
What is love?
Love is blue

Quick to pick
Never to judge
Always there
Never to leave

Great as a power
Small as a twig
Never intimidating
Always free

As soft as a fly
As gentle as the wind
Strong as an ox
Forgetful as a tree

Love is there
Love will never leave
Love for ever
Ever more...

The Love of a Soldier

Adversity arises, hatred, calamity and all,
A young man’s determination; a fire deep inside,
Recruitment beckons, who will answer the call?
To selflessly give up his dreams and desires, and fight for his country’s pride.

War begins to rage upon a distant shore,
To say goodbye to those he loves and everyone held dear,
Countries reflect and act upon what they really stand for,
He is not a boy anymore, but a man who shows no fear.

Among the living, warrior cries are heard, while the dead silently lay amidst a sea of blood upon the battlefield,
With guns ablaze and devastation all around, the young man is struck to his core,
While bombs explode, he acts without hesitation to protect his fellow comrade, and uses himself as a shield,
A knowing that he will never come home- the greatest horror of war…

The remains scattered on the ground of the soldier slain,
Will his sacrifice be remembered, or will it be in vain…?

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends…”
John 15: 13

I wrote this the other day. Called "Silence Bothers Me," but it needs a better title, so I'll just say it's untitled >_> :

In silence lies a mystery
A lack of control
Brings to light a haunting question,
"Should I stay or go?"
Your actions prove fruitless
When I'm pawing at my phone
As I'm quivering in anxiousness
Your need to be alone.
Am I a dope?
A mistake
A game of take but never give
As if you're picking at your teeth
While, here, I ponder why I live.
I want to strap you to my core.
We jump, we drift
We drop, then SOAR
To separate us from distractions
Yet, it's me your heart ignores.
When I talk, we never sleep.
I bet I make it hard to dream.
With all my questions, tries, and burdens
Don't have time to close these curtains.
Talk to me, keep faith alive
Then we shall see just who's deprived.

I think I'm burning up inside
I think I'll take a little ride
I'm gonna light up everything in sight
I'll drive on by your yard
And throw a Molotov cocktail at your car
Then another in the local bar

I want to make a tiki torch
I'm gonna throw it on your porch
Then I'm gonna run away
And come back another day
So many houses, so little time
So many reasons, I'm not a crime

Ignition,
They call it an obsession,
I think it's kinda bitchin',
I think it's kinda neat.

Splattered black paint masking shattered glass
Condensed red trickling down each rusted crack
Palms meeting like hair tying endlessly.

Brutal swells piling.
Bells vibrating.
Transparency attaching.
Drills detaching.

Filming, blinks utter words through tears.
Penetrations of pain gushing violently.
Echoes pondering from the bosom.

Tranquility no more, but only memories.

Deep.

------------------------

Day & Night

We giggle, reminisce
Reveling in youthful bliss
Watch your eyes, like Mother Earth
Rooted to your richest worth
Beautiful, I've seen in time
All our woes can wait in line
When I'm with you, got to have you
But I'll keep my urge behind

Til we're sitting in my room
Kissing all along my thigh
Can you feel the way my heart beats?
Do we need a reason why?
Now we've turned off all the lights
In this moment, feels so right.
Know we've waited all these months
I can't bear another night.

In the clouds, I'll let you be.
In the stars, you're stuck with me
As we drift into our darkened depths
And float atop the sea.

Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
William Butler Yeats

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
