Click to show or hide Most of the otaku guys I've known are sailors from my command (I'm a reservist); they dress with Hot Topic anime merchandise, have their dorms full of anime ecchi dolls, every single Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and Gintama manga volume (there are some old school fans too), only listen to J music, and some of them have actual anime memorabilia from Japan, since Japan is a common place for naval trainings (with bases in Okinawa, Nagasaki, and Kanagawa). I've only met two otaku guys simmilar to the ones of that picture, but they studied with me in college and were very friendly. Another quote: "Sorry, I really don't have time to watch 'The Hills' because I'm always too busy playing my PS2." BTW: THAT ROOM IS IDENTICAL TO MY ROOM!!!!!!!!!

Don't need to be Otaku to not be self-centred. Haven't heard of that game, sounds like Chaos;Head (really otaku guy, but average looks etc. He hallucinates his favourite character <_<). I never said they were fatty, or does the picture imply so. I think that stereotype has deviated from the "40 year old virgin who lives in his mom's basement", which is commonly used for people that play a lot. Isn't the room in the picture rather standard?
